Random Thoughts
We turned 4 on Sunday, had 2 services, interviewed for a new staff position we are creating, and baptized 38 people Sunday evening!! Awesome day for God's kingdom and the part He has called Rock Bridge to play in it. But needless to say I/we are a bit overwhelmed, drained, excited, scared, having a blast, etc. etc.
Planting a church is the GREATEST ride of my life and I pray the next 4 are as exciting as the last four have been.
Sometimes I am tempted to get tunnel vision and think that Rock Bridge is at the center of God's universe and that He isn't working anywhere else ... or at least not in a 15-mile radius around us. How awesome and humbling to know that He is working everywhere!! Just a few things that I am blessed to know about:
--My friend, Danny Echols, launched Cross View Community Church in Rockmart, GA this past Sunday. And God showed up big time!! I know God is going to use Danny and the people of Cross View to bring many into the kingdom and connect them to His Body!!
--Another friend, Gary Lamb, is rocking down in Canton, Georgia. Gary has been such a help and blessing to me as friend and as someone to bounce ideas off of. A member of my church visited Ridgestone (they aren't leaving us -- I know Gary would like that but they just have a lake place down near Canton and stopped in over Labor Day), and they were impressed and blessed by what God is doing about 60 miles south of us.
--Michael Lukaszewski, has started Oak Leaf Church in Cartersville, GA and they've got some momentum going as they launched back in August.
A final random thought -- this Sunday was our first with multiple services. And other than the 1st sermon feeling like a total bomb ... I think things went well. 2 services has helped us create a buzz and some momentum and also has gotten A LOT more people serving and inviting which is good!
Praying for KINGDOM GROWTH and to all who are on the front lines ... God bless you!!
