Tagged?

Tagged?? I was tagged by John Smulo who is the pastor/planter at LifeSong Church in Elk Grove Church in California. The questions have to do with books you've read. Here's my answers:

1) One book that changed your life.

Sorry, no surprises here ... The Bible ... and it keeps changing my life!

2) One book you've read more than once.

To Kill A Mockingbird ... I know that's random but I was an English major in college and I've love this book!!

3) One book that made you laugh.

Pretty much anything I've read by Mark Driscoll. Currently I'm finishing up: Radical Reformission: Reaching Out Without Selling Out.

4) One book that made you cry.

4th grade -- Where the Red Fern Grows

5) One book that you wish had been written.

(There's probably one out there on this subject) ... Something on the realities of spiritual warfare that will benefit Christians and churches who are serious about 'redeeming' stolen territory from the enemy. This is reality I don't think a lot of us are prepared for until we step into that territory (i.e. planting churches).

6) One book you wish had never been written.

Tough question ... ??? How about a category of books? Any book that presents a cookie-cutter approach to church planting, Christianity, etc. Those books that say ... "Just do this because it worked for me and it'll work for you." One thing I learn every week is that people are complicated, people are often contradictory, and God loves us anyway. One size does not fit all, it's awful hard to put people in categories, what works over there may not work over here. Yes we can learn from each other but we have to listen to God for how He wants His work expressed in our unique settings with the people God sends us.

7) One book you are currently reading.

Simple Church by Thom Rainer & Eric Geiger

8) One book you've been meaning to read.

Too many to list ... my shelves are full of them.
